Grizzly Game 1

This week we played at George Washington MS against the Alexandria Titans. They creamed us. But it was a great experience! Austin is #74 this season. The biggest Defensive Lineman on the team. No one moves him. He loves to tackle!

Ashley did a great job as Water Girl and came to brother's aid many times.

Haymarket Day Parade

We love attending the annual Haymarket Day Parade held every September in our little town. Ash walked for the last time with her preschool down Main street!

FIRST LOST TOOTH!

The same week Ashley started preschool, she lost her first tooth! The bottom lower right one. (The first tooth she got at 5 mos old.) Austin lost the same tooth but was a year older than she was! She's 4 1/2. I couldn't believe she lost her first tooth so quick! It was wiggly a month ago and that was a suprise, but for the little kernal to come out so soon was a great surprise. Although I must say I sniffed a bit--my baby's growing up!

We read a book about the tooth fairy, put her tooth in a little treasure chest then stuffed it deep in the tooth pillow (mine when I was growing up) and wrote a letter to the fairy. She's so excited! We'll see what the big fairy brings tonight! Yay Ash! My big girl is growing up. Congrats!

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL

Ashley started her first day of preschool this week! It's her first day of 4 yr old preschool. She has Mrs. Goff and Ms. Reedy as her teachers. Ashley had already met the teachers last week and was so ready for 5 day a week preschool!

Back To School

Today I hurry off to school,
To work and learn and play.
I'm in a brand new grade this year.

HBCP Meet the Teacher

Today at Haymarket Baptist Church Preschool, Ash had "Meet the Teacher".

This year she has sweet Mrs. Goff and Ms. Rady. We love them!!! Ash's class are the monkeys.

This will be a wonderful year and last year of preschool. We'e loved being part of the HBCP family!

Dress up

Target just got their Halloween stuff in. And we've already hit it. I'm a holiday junkie. Austin wanted to be Darth Vader and I grabbed the costume in his size, for fear they would run out (yes, almost 2 mos in advance). Ashley already bought a green princess costume, didn't want to be a princess and now has nothing. She pulls clothes from her closet to dress up now, and the baptism dress I was holding onto till she was 8 was already found, tried on and plays "wedding" around the house. She looks beautiful in it...I hope it holds up for 3 more years!

First Day of GMS Gymnastics

Ash just started gymnastics this week! It's very challenging and she loves it. Although she came out sweating and said, "that's a lot of hard work!" Core training, bar work, round-offs, climbing nets to the ceiling, handstands, she's my little monkeynastic!

First Day of 2nd Grade!

The morning began at 5:30am. There was much trepidation in the air. Austin's first day of 2nd grade! He got dressed on his own, was ready to make his own pancakes. I slowed the morning process down a bit and I have to admit, my stomach was just as queasy as his was.

We walked to our new bus stop (closer) and were the first ones there. Ashley of course rode her scooter and was thrilled. I had the video camera in one hand and the Nikon in the other. Snapping photos at every angle I could as other children arrived. Austin was so upset I was taking pictures this year! He told me to stop and would hardly stand still for one unless he was goofing off. He didn't even turn around on the bus or wave out the window this year! It made my heart ache (yes I'm a boob). My little buddy was "too cool for school" or rather, acting "too cool for mom".

After tears rolled by, I met up at Panera for the annual breakfast of moms that are sniffling and some that were partying.

By day 3, Austin needed mom more. "Aren't you going to wait for me right in front of the bus this time?" "Yes, I guess I could do that Austin."

FORE!

Such commotion behind our home!! The 8th hole of the golfcourse sits behind our humble abode. One night after football practice, we came home to police at our door wondering why a golf cart was in the pond behind out house! Police cars, towtrucks, oh my! A golf cart had been ridden-either by a teenager, disgruntled golf course employee, drunk golfer, or maybe rolled? Into the pond! They couldn't get the cart out by towtruck, so the next morning after mowing the lawn, the Crane came to pull it out. Neighbors congregating, such Saturday morning excitement. I want to send the pics into a golf magazine. Still don't know the culprit of the sunken cart...

Last week of summer

The last week of summer 2010...
This week we squeezed in many playdates before the long school days begin!

The Bensons came home..
Went to Rady Park 3 times...
Said goodbye to dear friends the Hucks before they left to MO sniff sniff
And Had a wonderful Labor Day BBQ!!!
